August 2021

We were very pleased to welcome Andrew Collett to our workshops to give a recital for inclusion in the Historical Keyboard Society of North America (HKSNA) virtual conference for 2021. Andrew played some pieces by Beethoven, which were unpublished during his lifetime, on the 1792 Beyer square piano, the Barlow Graf fortepiano, and the Dierkes square piano. November 2018

  We are delighted to congratulate Tinka Pypker & Anders Muskens on winning joint 1st prize in the final of the 2018 Early Music Young Ensemble Competition held at St Margaret’s Church, Blackheath, London. We were pleased to have restored the Longman & Broderip square piano which Anders played during their recital.

We will be there again with several instruments, and we will also be presenting a recital by Stephen Thomson on an English harpsichord by J.&A. Kirckman c.1775.   We will once again be exhibiting at the Royal Greenwich International Early Music Festival & Exhibition this year. The exhibition runs from Thursday 7th to Saturday 9th and we will have several of our instruments there with us for you to play. We will also be presenting a recital by the harpsichordist Penelope Cave on a newly remade English harpsichord by Thomas Culliford 1783. We would be delighted to see you there.

Both of these instruments are available to play and inspect at our workshop.

We are now offering padded instrument covers for sale. These bespoke, handmade-to-measure covers have a heavy canvas outer, thick padding and a soft cotton liner, a generous overlap underneath and webbing loops and tape for securing the cover around the instrument. Ideal for transportation, or just for protection. Priced from £250, please contact us with regards to your requirements.

The Haward spinet has now been completed and is available to be played at the workshop, we will be uploading some pictures soon. Restoration of a square piano by Henry Gunther c.1820 also completed.

Re-stringing and re-voicing completed on a Joseph Harris spinet of 1756, and restoration of an 1828 Broadwood Grand piano N°11750 also completed.
