Grand Piano by John Broadwood, N° 490, London 1792
This early grand piano by John Broadwood is fine example of its type. This piano has a compass of 5 octaves (FF-f³) with an English Grand action, is triple strung throughout with a separate bass bridge. The case is veneered in mahogany with a line inlay & mahogany cross-banding and sits on a mahogany trestle stand with two pedals operating the sustain and the una ⁄ due-corda.
This instrument was restored in our workshops in the spring of 2009.
