Strings For Early Keyboard Instruments

We can supply open-covered, close-covered & plain strings as individual replacements or sets for harpsichords, spinets, clavichords, square pianos, early grand pianos & fortepianos.

Plain strings in period iron & brass, phosphor bronze or steel wire.

Covered strings in period iron & brass with copper or tinned copper coverings.

If you are not sure of the diameter or the material of your string, please send it to us for us to match. We can adjust the length of the loop on replacement strings to match those on the instrument. The overall length of the string (tuning pin to hitch pin) is required.
