Square Piano by Longman and Broderip N° 1802, London c.1790

This instrument has 5 octaves F to F, a double action, overhead dampers with a lever operated split sustain and a lute stop. The case is in mahogany with a triple line inlay, and has a French style stand. The original silk covered dustcover is present, with paper instruction labels on the underside in English and French. The nameboard has marquetry swags and garlands with the makers name on an enamel plaque.
