Harpsichord by J. & A. Kirckman c.1775
We are pleased to offer for sale this fine English harpsichord by Jacob & Abraham Kirckman, made in London circa 1775. This harpsichord has a compass of 5 octaves (FF,GG - f³), with 2 × 8′, 1 × 4′ and harp-stop. The pedal operates a simple machine stop. The case is in oak veneered and banded in mahogany, the keywell in walnut with tulipwood banding.
This instrument was rebuilt by us in 2006, with a new keyboard and jacks (please click here for more details), and has been fully serviced in our workshops.
Dimensions: 87 ¾ × 37 × 11 ¾″ (2230 × 940 × 299mm). Overall height: 35 ¾″ (908mm). This instrument is tuned to a¹=415.
