Harpsichord by Michael Johnson, Fontmell Magna 1973 *Sold*

We are pleased to offer for sale this fine harpsichord by the respected maker Michael Johnson, made in Fontmell Magna in 1973.

This transposing single manual harpsichord has a compass of 5 octaves (GG - g³) with 2 × 8′ & 1 × 4′ registers and a harp stop. The case is painted in dark green and sits on a turned trestle stand. The keyboard has rosewood naturals and ebony sharps with elforyn tops, the soundboard is in spruce and bears the maker′s rose in a painted border and the date of 1973. The jacks are in wood with delrin plectra.

This harpsichord transposes a¹ = 392 ⁄ 415 ⁄ 440.
